During 18-19 October 2018, GIZ organized the “Training for Private Sector Involved in the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road Based on ADR” presided over by Mr. Nhean Sokol from Cambodia Freight forwarders Association (CAMFFA), the training aimed to educate representatives from the private sector who are associated with dangerous goods transport business in Cambodia. Targeted participants were restricted for company staff involved in safety and sanitation in management and supervising level or company owners with an attempt to apply knowledge gained from the training to their business.
The training course covered including but not limited to the differences between transport of general cargoes and dangerous goods, safety obligations of the participants involved in the transport of dangerous goods by road, information about dangerous goods and their risks, overview of dangerous goods transport by road based on ADR, agreements on the cross-border transport in the ASEAN and GMS based on ADR, CLMVT relevant regulations on transport of dangerous goods by road, and CLMVT relevant regulations on transport of dangerous goods by road.
By the end of the training, there were total 18 participants from 15 companies attended and successfully passed the training. Mr. Sin Chanthy, President of CAMFFA, was a guest of honor to close the ceremony and hand over certificates.
